The S.U.N Community
At S.U.N, we pride ourselves on our strong community both in and outside of our school. Our parents, community volunteers, the Sulhamstead and Ufton Nervet villagers, the congregation of St Mary's Church, Friends of Sun and our staff, governors and pupils all work together to create a safe, enriching, nurturing environment where our children can thrive and flourish - together we all dream, believe, challenge and achieve!
In school, we develop this community with volunteers who help in our school, listening to children read, creating artwork, sharing skills and helping to develop our school grounds. Pupils also have a sense of togetherness alongside their sense of accountability; children hold democtaric elections to be voted into a range of positions in the school from School Councillors, being a member of the Green Team to being a School House Captain. These groups meet regularly to make decisions for our school, the wider community and world.
